Berg Steel Pipe Plant

GET was responsible for the geotechnical engineering and construction materials testing for the $100 million Pipe Plant for Berg Steel.  The plant was constructed over the former International Paper Company site that had been abandoned and demolished.  The 250,000 square foot plant consisted of several large industrial structures/warehouses.  Based on geotechnical findings, the plant structures were supported on a combination of spread foundations and pre-cast concrete piling.  GET provided site preparation recommendations specific to the project dealing with the old foundations and debris that remained below grade at the site.  The project included the design and construction of both concrete and asphalt industrial roadways and pavements.   GET provided engineering oversight through construction, pile installation/monitoring, Non-Destructive Testing and reporting, Storm water runoff monitoring and reporting and all other associated construction materials testing services.
