Thomas Hospital New Patient Tower

GET was responsible for the soils explorations and geotechnical engineering for the $30 million Patient Tower at Thomas Hospital. The tower is a 125,000 square foot, 4-story cast in place concrete structure. Based on site findings and the geotechnical investigation, GET recommended that the structure be supported on auger cast piling. The geotechnical investigation included projected loading for a future expansion should the hospital choose to construct another tower to increase capacity with additional floors. The project also included roadway/pavement design and construction. GET provided engineering oversight through construction as well as the associated construction materials testing and inspection services.
