GET performed the construction materials testing and special inspections for the $13 Million paint shop hangar for MAAS Aviation on the Mobile Aeroplex Brookley site. The 34,000 square foot facility was constructed within the Airbus Final Assembly Line United State (FAL-USA) campus. The hangar is a heavily reinforced pile supported concrete floor with grade beams. Tunnels were constructed beneath the floor slab for air ventilation. The steel frame structure has eve heights up to 65 feet and clear spans of 175 feet. GET completed the hangar building pad preparation in the initial development of the Airbus campus. GET technicians monitored the installation of the drilled displacement piles for the project and tested all concrete for the floor slab, grade beam and tunnel construction as well as the asphalt pavements associated with the project. Once the project was complete, GET prepared a final Special Inspections report and submitted it to the owner.
