GET provided the soils explorations and geotechnical engineering studies for Emergency Operations Center GET provided the soils explorations and geotechnical engineering studies for the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) for the Mobile County Emergency Management Agency.  The project included the design and construction of the approximate 22,000 square foot EOC building, a generator building, an access road into the facility and parking.  Recommendations were also made for a future 150-foot long tunnel to connect the EOC building to the E911 building and for two communication towers.  Geotechnical findings allowed for the structures to be founded on shallow foundations.  Drilled caisson recommendations were provided as an option to support the cellular/radio towers.  Site soils were found to be moisture sensitive, so site preparation recommendations were given in an effort to minimize the impact to the construction schedule from these soils.   GET provided professional engineering support through the construction phase, including the Special Inspections and construction materials testing.
