GET performed the soils explorations and provided the geotechnical engineering recommendations for the Target Store located at the intersection of Highway 231 and Murphy Mill Road. The original site elevation varied substantially across the project limits. In order to level the site and prepare it for the building pad, up to 10 feet of cut and 28 feet of fill were required. A retaining wall was constructed to accommodate the fill operations in one area. GET addressed all site preparation requirements, made recommendations for spread foundations for the structure, specified design parameters for the retaining wall design, and also gave multiple pavement section recommendations for light to heavy-duty pavement sections for the project.
