GET was responsible for the soils investigation and geotechnical engineering evaluations/recommendations for the 20,500 square foot Penske Regional Center located at the Brookley Aeroplex. The center includes two building structures, both single-story construction, and approximately 200,000 square feet of access drives and parking areas. The geotechnical recommendations allowed for the structures to be founded on shallow foundations. GET addressed site preparation recommendations for the project structures and pavements as well the potential issues with foundation installation due to the existing near surface groundwater level at the site. GET performed the construction materials testing services and provided geotechnical engineering support during the construction of the facility.
