GET performed the geotechnical engineering and construction materials testing for the $20 million Middle School for the Baldwin County Board of Education. The school is a 170,000 square foot, 2-story concrete block fill/brick veneer structure with a 20,000 square foot gymnasium. The results of the geotechnical investigation found the school structure could be supported on spread foundations. Recommendations were also specified for all associated pavement sections required for the development of the school as well as for the various traffic loading/patterns.
Construction materials testing services included laboratory and field testing of soils, concrete and grout field testing and laboratory compression strength testing, pavement installation monitoring and testing and all associated documentation and distribution of field and test reports. Project services also included Special Inspections and Non-Destructive Testing and reporting.
