GET was responsible for the soils investigation and geotechnical engineering for both Phase I and Phase II for the condominium development on Highway 90 facing the Gulf of Mexico. The towers were designed and constructed in a phased approach and are basically identical in design with the exception of the parking deck included in the development of Phase II.
Both towers are cast-in-place concrete 14-story structures with post tension slabs. Together the towers offer approximately 365,000 square feet of condominium living space. The project also included the design and construction of access roadways and parking pavements. GET provided the design and construction team recommendations for multiple different types of pile foundations for consideration. Each recommendation included axial, tension and lateral capacity. Twenty-inch auger cast piles were selected for the project. GET developed and monitored the test pile program for both phases as well as monitored production piles during construction. GET provided engineering oversight and the construction materials testing services associated with the project.
