GET provided the soils explorations and geotechnical engineering evaluations for the expansion and renovation of the original art museum for the City of Mobile. The project consisted of the design and construction of a new 2 and 3-story structure enveloping the original two existing structures. The museum sits on sloping terrain/hillside overlooking the lake at Langan Park. The final structure constructed into the hillside varied from a single story to three stories. Geotechnical recommendations allowed for structures to be founded on shallow foundations. GET provided detail recommendations addressing the cut and fill requirements for the multi-story facility construction. GET provided professional engineering support and construction materials testing through the construction phase.
