Richard C. Shelby Center for Ecosystem Based Fisheries Management Building

GET was responsible for the soils investigation and geotechnical engineering evaluations for the Fisheries Management Building.  The structure has a footprint of approximately 12,500 square feet and is located across the street from the Dauphin Island Sea Lab on the east end of the island.  The project also included all associated project pavement structures required to develop the site.  Due to the site location/grade on the island adjacent to the Gulf of Mexico and Mobile Bay, the building pad had to be elevated three feet.  Geotechnical findings allowed for spread foundations once site preparation recommendations had been completed.   GET also addressed project pavement recommendations in the report.  GET provided engineering oversight through construction as well as performed the special inspections and construction materials testing for the project.
