GET was responsible for the soils explorations and geotechnical engineering studies for the 2-story 68,000 square foot Tribal Health Clinic building, the 66,000 square foot Assisted Living Facility and for the improvements to Martin Road for the Poarch Band of Creek Indians. The geotechnical investigation also included an area proposed for a future expansion of the facility. The project site sits on approximately 12 acres and is on tribal land. During the site investigation phase of the work, GET’s scope expanded to analyzing an alternate project location/layout. The alternate site proved to offer considerable cost savings to the project primarily in foundation costs. GET was able to recommend spread foundations for all of the project structures. Special site preparation requirements were addressed for both the road improvements and for building foundations prior to their installation.
