Wireless Communication Towers

GET has provided soils explorations and geotechnical engineering studies for the design of wireless communication tower foundations and evaluations of existing soil conditions across the entire Southeast Region including Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Arkansas, Tennessee and Florida. Studies have been performed for all types of wireless communication towers such as monopole, guyed and lattice or self-supporting. Projects typically require one to four soil borings with varying depths that range from about 15 to 100 feet. Based on the soil exploration results, GET provides recommendations for various foundations depths and types, design soil parameters, and lateral earth pressures. In addition, GET when required, also performs soil resistivity tests at tower locations. GET has made recommendations for shallow foundations (isolated footings, mats or rafts) as well deep foundations (driven steel and concrete piles, and drilled piles/shafts such as shafts, caissons and auger cast-in-place foundations).
